sci-fact: The docking connection between the Apollo 11 Lunar Module and the Columbia orbiter was not completely depressurized prior to separation. The resulting burst of escaping gas, with a force roughly equivalent to popping a champagne cork, caused the Eagle to miss its landing target by about four miles.
